Shia Muslims in Lebanon do not seek tripartite power sharing – Al-Manar TV Lebanon

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah said on Friday that some Lebanese parties unfairly insist on accusing Hezbollah of obstructing cabinet formation in Lebanon and blaming it on false assumptions related to the Iran nuclear deal.

Delivering a televised speech to address the latest developments in Lebanon, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that Iran has consistently refused to include any issue in the Vienna talks other than the nuclear deal.

“The Islamic Republic does not agree to negotiate on behalf of anyone, neither the Lebanese, nor the Syrians, nor the Yemenis, nor the Palestinians, nor the Bahrainis. Iran simply helps as a friendly country upon request.

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that Hezbollah has always rejected the government vacuum, recalling that the Party had rejected the resignation of Prime Minister Saad Hariri after the 2019 protests.

Calling for a swift cabinet formation in light of the deteriorating living conditions and the fuel crisis in Lebanon, Sayyed Nasrallah mentioned that the Hezbollah delegation met with MP Gebran Bassil and that President Nabih Berri met with the Prime Minister appointed to facilitate the process of government creation.

Commenting on MP Bassil’s appeal for the formation of the cabinet, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that Hezbollah has started to help in the defense of the rights of all Lebanese.

Sayyed Nasrallah asserted that the 8-8-8 formula does not exist in government, warning all parties against false positions based on this assumption.

In this regard, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that the Lebanese Shiite Muslims do not seek tripartite power sharing, adding that they also reject such proposals.

“Minister Bassil did not entrust me with the rights of Christians and I believe that none of the political forces with similar influence can accept the part that Hezbollah satisfies.”

Hezbollah has its separate terms that allow it to accept certain actions and reject the government dispute resolution role, according to Sayyed Nasrallah who added that MP Bassil is smart enough to avoid creating a wedge between Hezbollah and the Movement. Amal.

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that Hezbollah only supports fair demands for cabinet formation, giving the example of support for the president’s power to participate in the creation of the government and the rejection of the prime minister-designate to grant a political team the right of veto in the Council of Ministers. .

The Hezbollah leader also commented on the reactions of some Christian parties to MP Bassil’s appeal, stressing that sectarianism and racism have blinded them.

Sayyed Nasrallah reiterated that President Berri’s initiative contributed to the agreement between the parties concerned on the number of ministers and the sectarian distribution of seats as well as portfolios, adding that this effort will continue until he resolves the rest of the controversial points.

Sayyed Nasrallah asserted that Hezbollah has made all administrative and logistical preparations to import petrol and fuel from Iran, noting that when the Lebanese state declares not to resolve the crisis, the final order will be given to ‘bring Iranian fuel.

Against this background, Sayyed Nasrallah wondered how some Lebanese parties were ignorantly claiming that Iran was running low on gasoline, referring to the Iranian fuel ship being sent to Venezuela.

Sayyed Nasrallah also called on Lebanese parties who reject Hezbollah’s decision to import Iranian fuel to find an alternative, stressing that Hezbollah will welcome any effort in this regard.

“If you reject Iranian aid, why don’t you seek aid from the USA or the Gulf countries?

In this regard, Sayyed Nasrallah asked why the Lebanese government did not establish oil refineries to meet much of the needs of the Lebanese market at lower prices, citing experts saying that a company from a country in the ‘Est has declared itself ready to invest in such an area. .

Meanwhile, Sayyed Nasrallah urged Hezbollah supporters to avoid engaging in social media feuds that spark sedition, stressing that this is religiously prohibited.

Sayyed Nasrallah called on protesters across Lebanon to refrain from cutting off roads, explaining that such acts will only harm citizens and may never contribute to economic progress.

Blocking the roads will add a new queue of humiliation on top of that suffered by people at gas stations and pharmacies, adding that vandalism of public property increases the anxieties of the Lebanese people.

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed the importance of preventing conflicts in Lebanon, recalling how Hezbollah avoids responding to remarks and statements that verbally insult him.

Sayyed Nasrallah noted that Lebanon still enjoys stability and civil peace despite all crises, warning against attempts by some parties to drag the nation into a total explosion in order to serve the interests of the enemy.

The Hezbollah leader denounced the United States’ decision to block and seize dozens of websites that support the Resistance and the Palestinian people against the Israeli enemy, adding that it exposes Washington’s false claims of freedom of the press and religious freedom.

US statements on supporting the Lebanese army to confront Hezbollah are aimed at stoking sedition among the Lebanese, according to Sayyed Nasrallah who denied that Hezbollah is concerned about strengthening the Lebanese army.

Sayyed Nasrallah explained that the soldiers and officers of the Lebanese army belong to Lebanese families and have a patriotic creed, adding that the army is, according to the Constitution, commanded by the council of ministers.
