Lebanese Independent Nasserist Movement Praises Cuban Solidarity

In a statement, the organization highlighted the decades of confrontation of the Cuban people against the hegemony of the United States and the example of the revolution in the defense of just causes.

The Movement’s press release noted the meeting between the leaders of Mourabitun and the head of the Cuban mission in Beirut, Jorge Leon, to whom they expressed the military, political and economic achievements made by Cuba under the force of truth and of freedom.

They stressed Cuba’s support for the struggle for sovereignty against US colonialism and hegemony, and appreciated Cuba’s firm and permanent solidarity with the Palestinian Arab cause and the right to liberate their land and establish an independent state.

The statement highlighted the Cuban diplomat’s words to contribute to the stability of the Lebanese political and security situation, as well as to consolidate the ties of friendship between the two peoples.

The meeting was attended by the Movement’s Undersecretary Fouad Hassan, and Head of International Relations and Head of Palestine, Muhammad Koleilat.

The Mourabitun political movement was created in Beirut in the late 1950s by a group of activists who adopted the ideas of Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser.
